La Manga has miles of sandy beaches lined with sun beds and parks for children to play. One side is the Mar Menor with its warm shallow waters ideal for water sports and children to play. The other side is the Blue Mediterranean Sea with its white waves and cool sea breeze. Los Alcazares has Q awarding winning beaches. Along the wide promenade there are many bars, restaurants and children's play areas.
The area has many fine award winning beaches including the Mar Menor the largest lagoon in Europe. The crystal clear waters are warm, calm and rich in salts and minerals, in fact the temperature never falls below 18degrees.
In certain areas of the Mar Menor the therapeutic clays can be found, these are a favourite with the Spanish tourists. If you cover your self with the clay and then bake in the hot sun. It is said to be good for skin complaints including rheumatism and arthritis.

Calblanque nature reserve just south of La Manga, this has been a protected natural area since 1987 and nature reserve since 1992, Calblanque is an amalgamation of wonderful sand beaches, sandbanks, arid hills, cliff tops and salt flats. This Nature Reserve represents one of the last untouched areas along the Mediterranean coastline. |
