Cartagena is an old Roman City with lots of historical attractions to visit. Let the tourist boat take you around the docks of Cartagena and enjoy the breathtaking views of the sea and city. If you prefer to tour the town jump on the tourist bus and visit the most important and interesting sights throughout Cartagena. Step off at each stop and visit the many attractions including the Castle of La Concepcion and the Panoramic Lift. The Coastal city of Cartagena was founded in pre Roman times and has several archaeological remains even a Roman amphitheater. The port city has a large marina the waterfront has several restaurants and bars. The city is a working port and also a naval base and is very proud of it’s history. During September there is a major Fiesta where the residents dress as Romans and Carthaginians and party well into the early hours.
The regional capital Murcia is known as the “Baroque capitol of Spain” for its wealth of fine buildings and is a fantastic place to explore.
